Cultural events

Canet d’en Berenguer is a meeting point that offers a wide variety of cultural events throughout the year.

Theater is a deep-rooted tradition in Canet, with constant performances throughout the year. Of particular note is the Certamen de Teatre Vila de Canet, a unique platform for non-professional theater groups where they can showcase their talent and creativity. This festival is an expression of Canet’s love for theater and has grown considerably in recent years, betting on Valencian and amateur theater.

Concerts in Canet cover different musical genres, from classical music to rock and pop. Special events, such as the Canet Remember Fest, put Canet on the map as a musical reference. This festival offers good music, good company and a great atmosphere, being an outstanding date with the remember music of the 90s and 2000s.

During the summer evenings, films are shown outdoors on the beach during July and August. The cinema on the beach is an important part of the cultural and leisure offer of Canet d’en Berenguer, offering neighbors and visitors the opportunity to enjoy cinema sessions by the sea in an ideal environment for family tourism.

Auditorium

With capacity for 500 spectators, this auditorium has a large stage, automated curtains and backstage system, state-of-the-art sound and advanced lighting system. It supports the performances of local groups and is committed to quality events of international level.

Casa de los Llano Cultural Activities Center

Also known as Casa José de Llano, this historic building has been renovated for cultural uses, housing a library, exhibition hall and multipurpose room. Its landscaped outdoor space is used for open-air cultural events.

Ethnological Museum

Located in a farm family house from the first half of the 20th century, this museum exhibits objects of daily life and work on the land, as well as a display on historical memory. It also has a room for temporary exhibitions (currently closed to the public).

Cultural associations

Local associations play a fundamental role in Canet’s cultural life d’en Berenguer. With their work, effort and talent, they enrich the visitor’s cultural experience:

Founded in 1979, this group has evolved from the representation of Valencian sainets to more ambitious projects, becoming a reference in the Camp de Morvedre and the Valencian Community. It has a theater school with more than 70 children and its own space provided by the City Council, the Espai El Molinet.

Music adorns the festivities of Canet thanks to this musical society, which includes various groups such as the Band, Orquestra Jove, Sax Ensemble and the School of Music. With more than 250 members, it is one of the most prominent musical societies in the Valencian Community.

With more than 30 years of history, this group has revived the traditional dances of Canet, establishing the traditional dance of September 9. It participates in dansaes throughout the Valencian geography and has a school of dances and popular dances with 50 students.

Established in 2018, this association is dedicated to the defense, claim and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of Canet. It carries out dissemination, exhibition and didactic activities to raise awareness in society about the importance of preserving heritage.

Founded in 2004, this cultural association spreads and promotes the art of drawing and painting. It has its headquarters and plastic arts workshop at the Sanchís Guarner Center.

Founded in 1996, this rondalla spreads the music of pulse and plectrum in the town. It has participated in various competitions and performs annually in collaboration with the City Council.

Another of the outstanding cultural associations in Canet, focused on the promotion of the guitar and its music.
